Scope and Contents
The George "Pinky" Nelson introduction made to the City Club consists primarily of remarks on the named individual in the document, his local education history, being a graduate of the University of Washington where he received his M.A. and PhD in Astronomy. The fourth UW Graduate to become an astronaut, it was the honor of Pamela Transue to introduce to the City Club George "Pinky" Nelson. This document is further supplemented by biographical data on Mr. Nelson by Way of NASA's Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. An interdeparmental memo from the University of Washington regarding the presentation of a pennant at Half-Time during the University of Washington Homecoming Game on October 25, followed by a request for attendance by the institutions president.
