Biographical Note

Charles Cline, often known as Chuck, was a long-time faculty member of Tacoma Community College (TCC), who taught drama and speech. Cline was born May 19, 1943 in Walla Walla, Washington. He attended Washington State University (WSU), graduating in 1967, and was a student in WSU's drama program. After earning his degree, he spent a year teaching at Gonzaga University, and then was hired at TCC in September 1968 as a drama and theater instructor. Cline spent most of his teaching career at TCC. Under his leadership, TCC produced quarterly plays attended by both the campus and local community. During the summers, Cline worked with children's theater and vaudeville productions. Cline was also an instructor in the speech program at TCC. Although he retired in 1998, he returned to teaching speech at the Tacoma and Gig Harbor campuses in 2003. He was awarded with the Bob Thaden Outstanding Faculty Award in 2007.
