Scope and Contents

The following description is from Elizabeth Fortenbery, who transfered the photograph to the archives and served as co-advisor for NASU: "Wilma Mankiller (former Chief of the western Cherokee, and first woman Chief I think) came and gave a talk at TCC in 2005. Afterward she posed for a photo with the Native American Student Union. "Mankiller is seated front left in the pink jacket. Behind her is her husband I think. To his left (our right) is student Lola Eaglespeaker, who was one of the club officers. Next, wearing brown NASU shirt and holding a drum, is Carolyn Christmas, who worked in Financial Aid here for many years. She was the main advisor for the club. Kneeling with a drum and wearing a black hat is student Ron… [...] his last name escapes me. He was president of the club. The other students names are escaping me at the moment but they’ll come back if I meditate on it. The one in very back in the white cap is Osceola Bluehorse. I’m in front of him to his right (our left). I was a co-advisor. I don’t recall who took the picture."
