Scholarship letter from TCC Foundation to Allenmoore Medical Foundation, September 24, 2001
Scope and Contents
This folder contains a Tacoma Community College Foundation letterhead addressed to Robert B. Whitney, the President of the Allenmoore Medical Foundation, with regard to obtaining scholarships for newly accredited medical programs with the College of Nursing. Penned by the office of Executive Director of the Tacoma Community College Foundation, Rod Stephenson, the letter briefly explores both the need for nurses in the greater Tacoma area, but also the cost of higher education as a barrier to filling these vacancies in the city's hospitals. It further explores in brief detail the already allocated Allied Health Programs within the TCC College of Nursing, pointing to the college's 96% of its graduating nursing class passing their licensing exams. The letter rounds out with requests to the Allenmoore Medical Foundation for specific programs, reiterating the dire need for nursing staff in the greater Tacoma area, and the need to offset tuition costs. The following pages contain briefs on the department's programs, as well as the names and licenses of the faculty instructors that operate them.
